cocoon and black pearl ring join the Silky Collection today

A half cut cocoon and a 6mm black pearl are mounted on top of this handmade sterling silver ring. The cocoon I used is the one that produces pure tussah silk (wild silk). It has been sanitized, and treated in a special way so it's hard, neat and clean enough for jewelry making. The treatment I used allows the cocoon to remain its natural attractive color, particularly the rich creamy sheen of the silk.

Materials: cocoon, pearl, sterling silver

I've been thinking about completing this project for a while, but due to other things to do, this project had always been delayed. Finally, I've finished it during the week and took the pictures this morning. So, here it is one my latest color pencil rings:
